This is a 1960 Steinway model L in Walnut finish that has been played and pampered by its current owner for over 40 years. The instrument underwent significant refurbishment in 1985, including a new pin block, complete restringing, refinished sound board and plate, new damper felts, and complete action regulation. The work was beautifully completed by Kurt Saphir Pianos of Wilmette, Illinois.

In the 1985 overhaul, the original action components were, appropriately, retained. The action is still in excellent condition and the piano has a nice feel to it, but with it quickly approaching 60 years old, a rebuild is probably going to be necessary on the next owner's watch. We would also recommend the installation of a humidity control system at this time. These two items aside, we feel that the piano is in absolutely beautiful shape and ready for immediate delivery.

The current owners have downsized to a smaller home and are sad to see their  beloved piano go. I have promised them I would find a new family to love it as much as they have.
